An incomplete copper-alloy stud or mount of unceratin date, Iron Age to Post Medieval. This stud is circular in plan with a highly domed hollow head being convex on top and concave beneath. The dome's edge is slightly damaged on one side, while its upper surface is abraded and pitted. An integral spike projects from the centre of the inside of the dome and extends for 12.8mm before terminating in a rounded and abraded end. Post Medieval cast copper alloy pot foot and part of the leg. The leg is D shaped in section with a flat back; it is broken off just above a transverse collar with an old break. The prominent collar is rounded in section. The foot is also D shaped in section with five very worn moulded ribs running down the front and a flat back. The base of the foot is rounded. The piece is roughly rectangular in shape, though with one edge expanding in a curve, and consists of two metal sheets riveted together. An incomplete Roman cast copper-alloy Colchester derivative, rear hook brooch dating to the first century AD. The brooch consists of the head, the right wing and a portion of the bow. The head has a semi-circular sectioned wing, slightly concave at the back to accommodate the spring (not found with the artefact). A small medieval copper alloy rotary key, probably dating to c. AD 1100-1500. The key has a sub-circular shank with a hollow end which has a worn and possibly broken terminal at the bit. The bit itself has two vertical projections, one of which curves outwards 90 degrees at the end, the other having an old break before the end. A Roman copper alloy Colchester derivative developed T-shaped brooch, probably dating to c. AD 80-160. Only the head and upper part of the bow of the brooch survive. The wings measure 20.98mm in width and are rectangular with an integral projecting cylindrical bar across the back to hold the hinge (now mostly missing and abraded) and a sub-rectangular slot cut into the centre of the reverse to accommodate a hinged pin. Possibly a cast copper alloy awl or tracer. About half the length is square-section (maximum 6mm across) and fairly even in width, the other half is rounded and narows gradually and terminates to a point. there is no obvious waist where the two sections join. 82mm long and weighs 9.4 grams. Plain copper alloy awls are hard to date precisely and this lacks the characteristic central thickening of some Bronze Age examples.
