Cast copper-alloy front of a composite hollow button. The front is hemispherical with a central pellet at the top surrounded by an incised design of a star or sun with a cenral circle with eight rays or points projecting from it and multiple parallel lines of hatching between each ray. It is 13.7mm in diameter; 6.1mm tall and weighs 2.17 grams. An identical example is illustrated in Read (2005:73, no.294) from south Somerset which he dates to the 17th to 18th century AD.

Post Medieval cast lead button with integral shank which is now broken. The button is circular with a slight projection at one edge producing a 'drop' shape. It has a slightly concave back and conical front, producing a broadly triangular cross section. The conical front is decorated with three raised concentric rings around a central pellet with thinner raised lines radiating out from the centre to the edge. A damaged, now incomplete, post-medieval lead-alloy button. The button has a slightly convex front with a moulded design of a sunken six petalled flower with raised lines between each petal that emerge from a central rosette. There is a line border around each sunken petal in low relief. The edge is shaped to the curved edges of the petals, though with alternating lines and double pellets that protrude. Post-medieval lead alloy button, probably mid 17th - 18th century in date. Raised, moulded quatrefoil decoration on the front. The back is worn with a possible maker's mark which is illegible. The attachment loop/shank is missing with a scar in the cnetre where it was attached. It is 16.61mm long, 15.50mm wide and 4.63mm thick. It weighs 3.65 grams. A similar button can be seen in Read (2005:80), no. 328 which he dates to the early 18th century.

A Post-Medieval copper alloy enamelled button dating to c. AD 1640-1700. The button is circular in plan, with a convex front and concave reverse. From the centre of the reverse an integral shank expands, terminating in a now incomplete drilled loop. Traces of iron corrosion are affixed to both the loop and reverse face of the button, suggetsing the original presence of an iron chain. An incomplete lead post medieval button dating to the period c. AD1600 - 1700. About half of the button and its shank are missing. A corroded but complete cast lead button of post-medieval date (Th. without loop: c. 9.1mm). The button is domed, with a flat back with central, integral iron loop of circular cross-section; no casting seam is visible. The upper surface bears patterning moulded in low relief, consisting of lines and circles around a central cross, but with obvious symmetry. Read (2005, 57ff.) dates such buttons to the 16th century.

A slightly damaged late medieval/early post-medieval copper-alloy button. This is a cast one-piece example of biconvex form with an integral looped shank. The button is plain. It has corroded to a red/brown colour with patches of light-green corrosion product. The shank has been abraded through and slightly bent as a result of old damage. Similar examples can be found illustrated in Read (2005, 51-52).

A copper-alloy composite three-piece button of post-medieval date (c. 17th century). The sheet button consists of a pair of hollow die stamped hemispheres soldered together. There is a small perforation, or blow hole, either side of the separately attached round, drawn wire loop/shank. A detached element is lodged within the object and rattles around when shook, but it is assumed that this is not a pea as with a bell. A post-medieval cast tombac (copper-zinc alloy) two-piece circular button with central pimple (c. 17th century AD). The front is plain and slightly domed apart from the pimple. The back is concave and rough with a back-plate soldered in place within a border. This latter features three perforations arranged in a triangle around a central integral loop. The loop is rectangular with a rounded end and perforated for attachment; the hole is slightly recessed. This too is rougher than the front, a duller grey than the shinier front.
