Post Medieval copper alloy mount or stud or possibly button. The head is roughly circular with a smooth, slightly domed top. Around the edge there is a simple decorative incised line forming eight cresents, the areas between the scescents and the edge slope down. The edge is worn and rough in places. The back is concave and from the center projects the remains of a round rivet or stem with a slight casting line to one side. It is 17.0mm in diameter, 2.4mm thick excluding the spike, 4.2mm including it and weighs 2.80 grams. Read (2005:67) illustrates buttons with similar edge design…

Part of a possibly Medieval to Post Medieval copper alloy stud. It has a damaged domed circular head, with a convx top and concave back. There are six incised lines branching from the centre that divide the flower shape into equal segments/petals, with traces of gilding in the incisions. The outer edge, where it survives, is convex curved in each segment. The majority of the edge has been lost to an old break.
