Post Medieval silver penny of the Commonwealth dating to AD 1649 to 1660. North (1997:206) no.2729.
The coin has a worn piercing from the reverse to the obverse near the edge and probably originally circular, at 1 o'clock ont he obverse and 6 o'clock on the reverse. The top and and bottom edges have been bent forward and back to give an S-shaped profile, common on modified coins of this period.
Part of the edge is also missing to an old break.
