Post Medieval - Modern cast lead two disc cloth seal. The disks sit one on top of the other and are joined by a tab. One had a hole in the centre and the other a projecting point which has been pushed through the hole and then stamped flat to fix them together. The tab is mostly missing from old breaks. The stamp has the initials R.W. The discs are bent and at most 27.4mm in diameter, 3.7mm thick and it weighs 14.22 grams. The simplcity of the design of initials rather than a privy mark suggests a later date, 17th-18th century (cf Egan p.84, no.234, 236 and p.86, no.242)

A circular cast lead alloy weight of uncertain date with a trapezoidal cross section. A 'D' is stamped on one face and there is an incised line on the other. It is 23.8mm in diametre, 6.6mm in thicknes and weighs 27.82g. 0.98 ounces. Plain weights were cast locally in lead from the Roman period onwards for a wide variety of uses and are hard to date precisely. This example is about an ounce in the avoirdupois system in use since the Medieval period suggesting a late Medieval - Post Medieval date.

The toy commences in an old break and is cylindrical with a hollow circular cross sectioned interior and a hexagonal external cross-section. The internal diameter of the toy is 9.07mm tapering to 3.88mm at the opposite end. A Post-Medieval lead cloth seal, probably dating to c. AD 1550-1800. The seal is incomplete, with only the integral rivet and an adjoining section of the disc from which it expands surviving. The surviving section of the disc depicts a design of an eagle or perhaps more likely, a griffin, advancing left, right foot in front with each talon terminating in a pellet. A large number (100) have a weight of 11g +/- 1.5g, with a second main group (31) around 32g +/- 1.5g. It is sub-circular and slightly curved in profile, with the section above the slot slightly misaligned to that below. The vessel is also curved and c. 3.5mm thick. Its dark orange-brown colour suggests that this is a corroded iron cooking vessel, of early post-medieval date.

A corroded but complete cast lead button of post-medieval date (Th. without loop: c. 9.1mm). The button is domed, with a flat back with central, integral iron loop of circular cross-section; no casting seam is visible. The upper surface bears patterning moulded in low relief, consisting of lines and circles around a central cross, but with obvious symmetry. Read (2005, 57ff.) dates such buttons to the 16th century.
