A cast copper alloy spoon finial (length: 34mm; width at shoulders of blade: 13mm; thickness at shoulders of blade: 3mm; weight: 3.03g). Intregrally cast with the blade, the small handle/ end knob (length: 7mm) has bead, reel and spool mouldings. The blade tapers fairly gently from shoulders to the blade where the forked tip has been broken off to form a jagged edge. The front of the blade has been engraved/ incised with possible animal motifs. This decoration, however, is fairly crude and mostly consists of unidentifiable linear markings. A copper-alloy post-medieval trader's token of the mid to late 17th century. The token is fairly worn and suffers from some corrosion so reading it is not easy. However, the obverse legend may read THO. CA[TTER]B[ANKE] and possibly [IN] LEITC[HFIELD] TC on the reverse, making it a token of Thomas Catterhanke, bailiff of Litchfield. A shield can be discerned in the centre of the obverse. It measures 17.1 mm in diameter, 1.1 mm thick and weighs 1.5 grams.

An incomplete tinned copper alloy sugar tongs arm, of Post Medieval dating (17th to 18th Centuries AD). The arm has a D-shaped, dished terminal with a short length of a pointed oval-sectioned arm. It measures 31.6 mm in length, 14.5 mm wide and 3.0 mm thick. It weighs 2.1 g. The sugar tong arm is a mid grey colour, with an even surface patina. There is a reference, in Sussex Archaeological Collections 19 p.95, to a William Smith of Steyning who had an estate worth £20 seized by parliment in 1655 because the owner was either a Royalist or a Catholic (the ordnance covered both). This may or may not be the same person as issued the tokens but Williamson suggests it is.

The front is hemispherical with a central pellet at the top surrounded by an incised design of a star or sun with a cenral circle with eight rays or points projecting from it and multiple parallel lines of hatching between each ray. Post Medieval cast copper alloy sword belt fitting. It is roughly foliate in form, with incised decoration forming a leaf pattern. It has a trefoil shaped terminal at one end below which it narrows before widening to rounded shoulders about a third of the way down from which it tapers to the other end where there are two lugs flanking a forward projecting hook. A Post Medieval cast copper alloy lozenge shaped mount. The mount is flat on the surface with bevelled edges. On the reverse there are two integral rivets. One of them has broken and is now 3.6 mm long, the other is bent over at 90 degrees and approximately 11.6 mm long at is full length. A piece of dried leather is still fastened on the underside of the mount. The metal surface of the object is a red copper colour with a bright green patina in places. The mount is 32.5 mm, 25.6 mm at its widest point, and wieghs 6.82 grams. It probably dates to 1500 - 1700 AD.

Incomplete cast copper alloy post medieval double loop buckle frame. 28.3mm long, 27.1mm wide, 2.5mm thick and 3.4 grams in weight. One loop has gone almost completely from old breaks. The other is D shaped in profile with an expanded outer edge and a central pair of projecting lips forming a pin rest. The centre bar is recessed and narrowed, there are projecting knobs at both ends, outlined by grooves across the frame. Similar to Whitehead (2003) page 61, no 306 hence a date of c.1550-1650 is suggested.

Cast copper alloy side plate from the hilt of a knife. The plate is sub-rectangular in shape. There is a break at one end, but the rest of the plate remains intact and in fairly good condition. The reverse has a raised ridge running along the outside edge, creating a central slot to hoild the tang of the knife, but is otherwise undecorated. The bar has a central rectangular block with a slightkly rounded lower face and corners and a circular perforation running through it on the vertical axis. Through this perforation is threaded a vertical copper alloy bar which is circular in section and rotates freely in the hole. The strap bar is narrowed. The pin is missing but there are traces of iron corrosion on the strap bar and one loop. The frame is 23.0mm long, 18.8mm wide and 2.5mm thick, it weighs 1.74 grams.
