One half, the hook part, of a 17th century cast copper alloy clothes fastener. The hook is a wide flat strip with a curved end bent forward 180 degrees, the tip of which is missing. The hook is attached to one end of an oval plate. The central area of the plate has a raised floral design within a triple line border. The hook is flanked by two circular attachment holes one on either sid and there is another single attachment hole at the opposite end, flanked by rounded knops.
