A hook piece from a copper alloy Post Medieval (c.1550-1750) book clasp. It is a sub-rectangular piece of copper alloy sheet, with a slightly flared attachment end. At the opposite end is a curved hook (3.6mm wide) the end of which is missing. Below this the main body of the clasp is 9.0mm in width, 9.1mm at the attachment end. At the centre of the attachment end is a perforation through the upper surface for a rivet, now missing.
