A fragment of cast copper-alloy knife handle dated c.16th century. The fragment remains as the knife end cap or pommel with only very faint traces of the iron tang around the egde. The object is oval in shape and is decorated with incised parallel lines with a central design of chevrons or Z's between. Reference: Similar examples can be found Read (2001: p.88, no.654) which he dates to the 16th century. Date: Post Medieval. Length: 17.5mm. Width: 16.4mm. Thickness: 5.8mm. Weight: 8.06g.

A late Medieval to early Post Medieval copper-alloy purse bar belonging to Ward Perkins' Class A2, c.1450-1550. Description: The purse bar itself is mostly complete, but the suspension loop has been broken and uncertain if it remains complete. Two complete cast copper-alloy post-medieval buttons dating to the 17th to 18th century. The buttons are circular and flat, with integral D-shaped drilled fastening loops on their reverses. The front of both buttons is decorated with an engraved sexfoil of circular petals between six pointed triangular petals. A copper-alloy Post Medieval hooked clasp sword belt fitting dating to 1500 to 1650. The fitting is the 'eye' and not the 'hook'. The body of the fitting would have been sub-rectangular but has two breaks one in each corner, the piece tapers into the 'eye' loop by a double moulded crescent. The outer face is decorated with two raised, rounded domes (now corroded) placed above the rivets. There are two rivet holes on the reverse both are encrusted with iron corrosion. An incomplete lead post medieval button dating to the period c. AD1600 - 1700. About half of the button and its shank are missing. The button is circular in shape with a flat back and convex front, which is decorated with cross and a large pellet in each quadrant, these abutting an outer border, all moulded in high relief.
