Part of a lead alloy object, possibly the base and attachment for a handle on a large lead-tin (pewter) jug, possibly of Roman date. The piece has a sub-rectangular shape for 65 mm in length and gradually widen from 13.5 mm on the base to 20.5 mm near the top. From this point of maximum width it tapers again for 21 mm in length to a rounded, broken and worn, tip. The base is thinner and turned out at 20 degrees angle, moulded with a raised edge. A fragment of clear, uncoloured glass dating from either the Roman period or Post-medieval. The fragment is very roughly triangular in shape measuring 41.5mm by 39.4mm by 29.7mm. It is of uneven thickness to a maximum of 2.3mm. The piece is curved, the degree of curvature (i.e. distance from the central part of the convex area to a line joining the furthest extremities) being c7mm. Cast lead vessel repair (pot mend). Oval with two irregularly shaped outer sides joined by a smaller central section. In the groove created between the outer sides there are traces of the original pot. The pottery appears to be of sandy dark orange fabric. It is 36.8 mm by 32.6mm, 10.2 mm thick and weighs 48.07 g. Pot mends of this form are found in both Roman and Medieval periods, as a common way to repair broken pottery. The remains of the original pot seem to be Roman in date although it is too fragmentary to be completely certain.

Two sherds of Roman greyware, a base sherd and a rim sherd. Both sherds have a medium grey-brown fabric with abundant, c. 30% fine sand temper. The base fragment has only a small part of the base on it but shows the convex wall rises from the flat base at about sixty degrees. The rim fragment has an everted rim, possibly from a jar, with a slightly widened and flattened top ending in a slightly rounded outer edge. It is too short and irregular to estimate the original diameter (L.: 57.1mm). They weigh 28.08 grams together.

A base fragment of a greyware ceramic vessel dating to the Roman period (c. AD 43 - 410). The base is almost flat, with wear marks and more recent scratches on the underside. There is very little of the vessel's body that remains adhered to the base, but there is enough to suggest an open profile vessel form, too little survives to estimate the diameter. The fragment is a blue-grey in colour, with brownish patina. The hard fired fabric is non-micaceous with abundant very fine sand temper and occasional rounded iron stone inclusions. Seven cast lead vessel repairs (pot mends). All have the characteristic H-shaped section with two irregularly shaped outer sides, one larger than the other, joined by a smaller central section. None of them retain any of the original pot in the grrove created between the outer sides. Total weight 70.04 grams. Pot mends of this form are found in both Roman and Medieval periods, as a common way to repair broken pottery vessels. The lack of any vessel material left in the groove means they cannot be dated directly but they are likely to be Roman given the other material on the site.

Nine sherds of Roman greyware vessels, eight body sherds and one rim sherd. The fabric is mid to pale grey throughout. It is tempered with varying quantities of poorly sorted rounded quartz (less than 2mm), dark iron ore (less than 1mm), and sparse fine mica (less than 0.5mm), with frequent rounded voids (less than 1.5mm). The rim is everted with a rounded outer edge but too short to accurately estimate the diameter.The breaks are mostly very abraded with some fresher breaks. Total weight 37.67 grams.

Twenty sherds of Roman Poole-Wareham Black Burnished ware (BB1), 100-410 AD, sixteen body sherds and four rim sherds. The sherds mostly have dark inner and outer surfaces and a slightly lighter inner core; some have re-oxdised to shades from mid-orange to mid-grey from later burning others appear lighter as the darker surface has been lost. A corroded, plain copper-alloy rivet-like object which might have been used to hold repairs to a vessel in place. It is sub-oval in plan with a possibly break giving a broadly straight edge to one side. On the lower surface there is an integral protruding prong towards this edge whose terminal protrudes to one side and is flattened at the base. Rolled sheet rivets replaced the earlier folded sheet rivets in pot repairs from the late 15th - 16th centuries (Egan 2005, 101) suggesting a possible late medieval to post-medieval date for this piece. A cast lead pot mend, used to mend a broken vessel in order to lengthen the period of use after damage had occurred. It is sub-circular and slightly curved in profile, with the section above the slot slightly misaligned to that below. The vessel is also curved and c. 3.5mm thick. Its dark orange-brown colour suggests that this is a corroded iron cooking vessel, of early post-medieval date.

A fragment of a post-Medieval skillet handle (1679-1717 AD). The fragment is sub-rectangular in plan, flat on the upper face and convex on the underside ('D'-shaped in cross-section). Post Medieval fragment of a copper alloy cast leg from a cooking vessel. The fragment is 'D'-shaped in section with a notched curved outer edge created by five ribs that run down the front. It measures 57.3mm in length, 46.6mm in width, 23.6mm in thickness and weighs 86.82g. Butler, Green and Booth (2003; 4) suggests that legs such as these were widespread by the 17th century.

Body sherd from a small cup, bowl or jar with almost vertical sides. The fabric is mid orange with some fine quartz temper. The exterior is decorated with white slip interrupted by four turned parallel lines at the top and indented ovals with dignal scratches across them below. A yellow glaze over all appears brown on the inside and areas where the slip has been removed. This form of decoration is typical of South Somerset ware of the late 17th to 19th centurys altough the scratched ovals are slightly unusual.
