An incomplete cast copper alloy developed T-shaped brooch of early Roman date. Present is the head, with broken pin, and upper bow; the lower bow, including foot and catch-plate, are missing. The head is formed of flattened cylindrical wings with a central slot between them on the back of the head. The wings are 27.9mm wide, taper slightly towards the outer ends and are oval in section with flattened upper and lower faces. Fragment of a Roman copper alloy Initial T-shaped brooch dating to AD 70 to 100. It is missing one wing, the pin and the lower part of the bow, including the catchplate. The head has a hollow cylindrical wing on one side, undecorated, 15.8mm wide, to hold the axis bar for the hinged pin, the other wing is missing. The head of the pin would have hinged on the axis bar in the slot, the end of the wing adjacent to the slot is filled with iron corrosion which may be the remains of the bar. A fragment from a cast copper-alloy Roman bow brooch. The fragment consists of the lower bow and the foot, including most of the catch-plate. The bow, which is now twisted, has a C to D-shaped cross-section with a flat back, becoming concave at the upper end, and convex front. An almost complete Roman copper-alloy headstud brooch of Group 2 dating to c.AD 80 to 200.. The brooch consists of cylindrical wings at the head, the pin and the bow and foot with catch-plate at the back with the only missing part being the outer edge of the catchplate and the headstud and other decoration. An extremely corroded and incomplete probable finger-ring of Roman date. The object appears to consist of a thickened bezel of rectangular form, rounded at the top from the ends of which extend shoulders and hoop in a continuous curve. The hoop has broken around halfway down each side with the truncated remains abraded to a point on both sides. The hoop is broadly D-shaped in cross-section, with a flat internal surface (int. dia.: c. 19.2mm). A dark-green patina survives in small patches, particularly on the underside of the bezel. The head and upper bow from a copper-alloy initial T-shaped brooch of early Roman date. The lower part of the bow and foot is missing to an old break. The head is formed of two cylindrical wings flanking a central slot. One wing is shorter than the other but still has a neat, worn, end suggesting it was mis-cast or broken in antiquity. The head is 17.4mm wide. The wings hold the axis bar for the hinged pin, one end of the copper alloy bar is visible embeded in white material, probably solder in the end of the shorter wing.
