An incomplete cast copper-alloy double-looped buckle of post-medieval date, now missing its pin. The buckle is sub-rectangular in form, effectively a rectangle with the corners cut off; one of the outer edges is not straight. The buckle is flat and plain and has corroded to a red-brown colour overlain by patches of light green corrosion product. Such a buckle can plausibly be dated to the 17th century, although a slightly later date cannot be ruled out (cf. Griffiths et al., 215; ref. 3001).

A Medieval to Post Medieval copper alloy double loop oval buckle dating to the period c AD1350 - 1700. The frame has a bevelled inside edge and three transverse engraved lines on each loop. The pin is missing. The central bar is narrowed and has a break towards one end. There is a small knop at either end of the bar. There are traces of black lacquer on both surfaces. The buckle measures 37.40mm in length, 33.17mm in width, 3.48mm in thickness and weighs 8.83g. Post Medieval copper alloy buckle frame dating to the period cAD1550 - 1650. The double oval looped frame has a moulded shell like knop in the centre of each loop and a small knop at each end of the narrowed strap bar. The shell shaped knops have convex curved outer edges and converge to an inner point that projects into the loop slightly.
