An incomplete copper-alloy object, representing a fragment of a candlestick dating to the post medieval period. The object comprises half of a hollow tubular body and an incomplete curving top. The tube is lozengiform in cross section, and tapers towards the top. The top has approximately a quarter of a loop remaining. A complete cast copper alloy mount of post-Medieval date. (c.1600-c.1750). The mount is convex at the front and flat at the rear. In plan it is in the form of a heart with a fleur-de-lis terminal. The side fleurs of the fleur-de-lis curve round to join the ridge and thus have circular holes within. At the rear are two integral tapering spikes, circular in cross-section. A copper alloy stock clasp of Post-Medieval date. The outer edge is straight and slightly flared with a rectangular hook on the underside. The opposite edge has three lobes, each containing a circular-headed rivet on the underside. The incised decoration forms a linear border around the edge and a bifurcating scroll from the central lobe out to the side lobes. Seventeenth century traders token of Lewis Williams of Chester dating to 1667. Williamson (1889) and Dickinson (1984) catalogue a half penny of Lewis Williams of Chester but not a penny. It appears from the spacing of the words on the obverse that this token has been converted into a penny from a half penny (by removing the word HALF from between HIS and PENY, either by a change on the die or on the token. Cast copper-alloy pedestal type seal matrix with a oval die from which rises the handle in the form of a flattened trefoil on a short, oval sectioned, stem. The upper loop of the trefoil is missing to an old break, the lower side lobes have roughly circular holes through them. The die has an incised design of the letters I C with a branching tree running between them and spreading out above and below them and no outer border.
