An incomplete copper alloy purse bar of early Post Medieval date. The bar has a central rectangular block with a slightkly rounded lower face and corners and a circular perforation running through it on the vertical axis. Through this perforation is threaded a vertical copper alloy bar which is circular in section and rotates freely in the hole. The bar ends in a globular terminal below the block and expands into a loop above it; this loop would ahve been used to hang the purse from the belt. An incomplete tinned copper alloy sugar tongs arm, of Post Medieval dating (17th to 18th Centuries AD). The arm has a D-shaped, dished terminal with a short length of a pointed oval-sectioned arm. It measures 31.6 mm in length, 14.5 mm wide and 3.0 mm thick. It weighs 2.1 g. The sugar tong arm is a mid grey colour, with an even surface patina. Several other sugar tongs (some misidentified as possible balances) have been recorded on the PAS database, including: LEIC-A531C3; NMS-09E313 and WAW-091A4A. Medieval or post-medieval cast copper-alloy double-loop buckle frame. The frame has two oval loops which are D-shaped in section with flat backs and slightly widened outer edges. The strap bar is narrowed. The pin is missing but there are traces of iron corrosion on the strap bar and one loop. The frame is 23.0mm long, 18.8mm wide and 2.5mm thick, it weighs 1.74 grams. A similar example is illustrated in Margeson (1993:30, no.164) from a 17th century context , although with an incised line for a pin rest in the centre of each loop, it is likely similar simple forms were in use …

An incomplete copper-alloy post-medieval double-looped buckle frame, missing most of one of its loops as well as its pin. The strao bar extends beyond the meeting point of the loops ending in rounded lobes. The reverse surface ia flat, and the upper surface is convex. At the centre of the remaining loop is a lobes expansion with the front moulded into crude flower. The broken off loop is a short stub along one edge (6mm), and broken at the moulding along the other. The breaks are old and the frame is bent slightly. Post Medieval copper alloy mount or stud or possibly button. The head is roughly circular with a smooth, slightly domed top. Around the edge there is a simple decorative incised line forming eight cresents, the areas between the scescents and the edge slope down. The edge is worn and rough in places. The back is concave and from the center projects the remains of a round rivet or stem with a slight casting line to one side. The S shaped fitting has a naturalistically modelled reptilian or bird like head at both ends, a double bar running around the middle of the fitting in low relief with further curvilinear features to either side; the details of which are worn. Post Medieval cast lead-alloy bifaced token of Powell type 2 / Powell type 8 (c. AD 1500-1800). The token is square in shape, but has two rounded corners, one of which is chipped. On one face, at an angle to the edge, the token has a raised design of the letters T B with a star between them and a pellet below. A post-medieval cast copper alloy button with enamel decoration and integral shank of the 'Stuart enamel' type dated c. AD 1600-1700. The button is circular in plan with a convex front and a concave back. In cross section it is D shaped. A cast copper-alloy rectangular single-looped buckle of medieval to post-medieval date (c. AD 1400-1700). The buckle's rectangular frame has rounded corners on the outer edge. It is square in cross-section with some rounding to the outer edge. Looped in situ is a thick wire pin which has corroded in the same manner as the frame. The buckle's form is not diagnostic hence the large date range offered.
