Cast copper-alloy front of a composite hollow button. The front is hemispherical with a central pellet at the top surrounded by an incised design of a star or sun with a cenral circle with eight rays or points projecting from it and multiple parallel lines of hatching between each ray. It is 13.7mm in diameter; 6.1mm tall and weighs 2.17 grams. An identical example is illustrated in Read (2005:73, no.294) from south Somerset which he dates to the 17th to 18th century AD.

A cast copper-alloy button inlaid with enamel of late medieval or early post-medieval date (15th-16th century AD). The button has a square head 17.1mm by 16.7mm and 2.5mm thick; it is flat on the front with a recessed cell within a plain border, in the centre of which is a raised circle containing a second cell. A complete post-medieval copper-alloy button of 17th-century date. This is a cast composite two-piece example of discoidal form with a convex front and flat back. It has a polished tin coating with some small patches of light-green corrosion product showing through. On the back is a separate embedded drawn copper-alloy wire shank of circular section in a simple loop, now squashed against the back. For similar examples see Read (2005, 75); Read notes that the surface treatment may have been with the intention of creating an appearance of silver.

A slightly damaged late medieval/early post-medieval copper-alloy button. This is a cast one-piece example of biconvex form with an integral looped shank. The button is plain. It has corroded to a red/brown colour with patches of light-green corrosion product. The shank has been abraded through and slightly bent as a result of old damage. Similar examples can be found illustrated in Read (2005, 51-52).

A post-medieval cast copper alloy button with enamel decoration and integral shank of the 'Stuart enamel' type dated c. AD 1600-1700. The button is circular in plan with a convex front and a concave back. In cross section it is D shaped. A Post-Medieval copper alloy enamelled button dating to c. AD 1640-1700. The button is circular in plan, with a convex front and concave reverse. From the centre of the reverse an integral shank expands, terminating in a now incomplete drilled loop. A copper-alloy composite three-piece button of post-medieval date (c. 17th century). The sheet button consists of a pair of hollow die stamped hemispheres soldered together. There is a small perforation, or blow hole, either side of the separately attached round, drawn wire loop/shank. A post-medieval cast tombac (copper-zinc alloy) two-piece circular button with central pimple (c. 17th century AD). The front is plain and slightly domed apart from the pimple. The back is concave and rough with a back-plate soldered in place within a border. This latter features three perforations arranged in a triangle around a central integral loop. The loop is rectangular with a rounded end and perforated for attachment; the hole is slightly recessed. This too is rougher than the front, a duller grey than the shinier front.

Two complete cast copper-alloy post-medieval buttons dating to the 17th to 18th century. The buttons are circular and flat, with integral D-shaped drilled fastening loops on their reverses. The front of both buttons is decorated with an engraved sexfoil of circular petals between six pointed triangular petals. The pattern within the circular petals differs slightly from each button, one has an embossed square grid pattern and the other has a linear grooved pattern.
