Post Medieval, 17th century, cast copper-alloy circular bridle boss. The boss is a hollow hemisphere, with an openwork design and a flat border around the edge. A break to one side has removed part of the border and one of the pair of rivet holes. The boss has a raised central knop, around which is the openwork main body, consisting of slim curving arms. The less worn arms are decorated with a scale like patten of raised semi-circles running down each arm and incised lines down their inner sides which continue at the base to meet the base of the next arm. Medieval to post Medieval cast copper alloy probable swivel. The item consists of a central barrel like part with incised decoration with a cast circular hoop for attachment at each end. Although seemingly formed of two halves with a seam running around the middle of the barrel part there is presently no movement.
The exact use of the item is uncertain and it is therefore classified broadly as a strap fitting.
The fitting has been dated c.1400-1700.

Post Medieval cast copper alloy sword belt fitting. The fitting consists of a plate with a curved hook at one end with spherical finial. The plate is decorated with an incised curvilinear floriate design. The plate has two circular rivets at the top and bottom.
Fittings of this type are dated c.1550-1650.

Post Medieval Coin Weight: Complete cast copper alloy coin weight. The weight is a square flat disc decorated on both sides. One side carries the design of a crowned rose with the letters EC to either side. the other side probably shows a scallop shell with the letters GG above. This coin weight was continentally produced for the English market. GG is the mark of Gerrit Greers of Amsterdam. The weight weights1ozt.
This coin weight is dated to c.1600-1630.

A corroded and incomplete cast copper-alloy post-medieval plain double-looped buckle frame. The frame is missing one of its loops after an old break at the pin bar. The surviving loop is trapezoidal, with a flat lower surface and an upper surface which is bevelled externally. This gives the frame a triangular cross-section, while the pin bar is semi-circular in section. There is a knopped protrusion at each end of the pin bar. Traces of orange corrosion product at one end of the pin bar suggest that the pin may have been made of iron. The frame has a dark-grey surface where it survive…

A corroded and incomplete cast copper-alloy double-looped buckle frame of medieval to early post-medieval date. The frame was formed of two conjoined ovals such that the sides incurve. The frame is bevelled both internally and externally on the upper surface, the latter more shallowly; the lower surface is flat. The pin bar thus has a trapezoidal cross-section. The pin is now largely missing, apart from the orange/brown corroded mass, the remnant of the iron pin. A corroded and incomplete cast copper-alloy hooked mount of post-medieval date. The mount is sub-trapezoidal in plan with a cusped upper edge. It tapers towards the hook (now missing), widening slightly just above the hook; the mount has broken as the hook begins. The mount is broadly flat with slight bevelling on its upper surface. It features two iron rivets, one towards the upper edge, the other just below the centre of the plate. Much of the upper rivet survives corroded in place. A square trader's token issued by William Burges of Buckinghamshire in (AD) 1670. The token depicts a turbaned man pouring coffee, flanked by the date, 1670. The reverse has five lines of Script: William / Burges in / Aili[] / his half / Peny. Other 17th century square tokens often held the value of a halfpenny. A Post-Medieval, cast, copper alloy mount. The mount has a flat plate and is slightly heart shaped with one end tapering and folding underneath to form a hook. The reverse is flat except for the hook and a protruding stud, both of which have been integrally cast. The stud is 5.1 mm high and 5.5 mm in diameter. The metal is a brownish-red colour with an irregular formation of a green patina in some places.
The mount is 12.3 mm at its widest point, and 19.3 mm long; it weighs 1.97 g.

On the reverse is XIs (for 11 shillings) under a crown within a plain line circular border, over stamped with a crowned I to upper left. Cast copper-alloy front of a composite hollow button. The front is hemispherical with a central pellet at the top surrounded by an incised design of a star or sun with a cenral circle with eight rays or points projecting from it and multiple parallel lines of hatching between each ray. It is 13.7mm in diameter; 6.1mm tall and weighs 2.17 grams.
An identical example is illustrated in Read (2005:73, no.294) from south Somerset which he dates to the 17th to 18th century AD.

A copper-alloy Nuremberg Rose/Orb jetton of 16th century date. The legends on this piece appear to be nonsensical, suggesting it is an annonymous issue struck between c. 1500 and c. 1550 (see Mitchiner 1988: 377).
