A complete cast copper alloy mount of post-Medieval date. (c.1600-c.1750). The mount is convex at the front and flat at the rear. In plan it is in the form of a heart with a fleur-de-lis terminal. The side fleurs of the fleur-de-lis curve round to join the ridge and thus have circular holes within. At the rear are two integral tapering spikes, circular in cross-section. Both of these are bent towards the fleur-de-lis end. The mount is generally corroded but patches if a shiny khaki patina survive at the front. A fragment of a post-Medieval skillet handle (1679-1717 AD). The fragment is sub-rectangular in plan, flat on the upper face and convex on the underside ('D'-shaped in cross-section). On the upper face there are incised letters: S E with an incised linear groove above and below the letters. This handle has a dark green patina with patches of corrosion. It has an old break at each end and two old dents on the underside. 30.6 x 24.4 x 9.6mm. Weight: 44.25g. A post-Medieval cast copper-decorative hinge element from either a box or possibly a book fitting (c. 1500-c. 1700). The object is flat and sub-rectangular in cross-section with bevelled edges at the front. One end terminates with a fleur-de-lis which has a countersunk hole for attachment. The rivet for this hole is missing. Beyond this is heart-shaped openwork, within which is a rounded moulding with a countersunk hole for a second rivet.
