Part of a probably Mesolithic flint blade, probably dating to the period c.9000-4000BC. It is a secondary piece with one small patch of pebble cortex surviving near its proximal end. The artefact is rectangular with a triangular cross section. The dorsal face has two negative blade scars from previous removal. One of the mesal edges have areas of chipping. There is a snap at the proximal end, thus removing the striking platform and bulb of percussion. The flint is a medium grey with areas of mottled white. A group of twenty six pieces of Mesolithic flint and chert debitage in the form of blades and bladelets, dating to the period c. 9000-2350 BC. The majority of pieces have been struck off a tertiary flake with no evidence of cortex remaining. However three pieces have been struck off a secondary flake, retaining between 5 and 20% of their cortex. The dorsal faces on all pieces exhibit negative flake scars, with the majority of the assembalge only having only two (5 pieces have three or more negative flake scars). Fifteen small blades and fragments of flint blades. Some of the fragments appear to have been deliberately broken and represent proximal ends and central sections. Mostly pale grey to pale buff with two in dark brown translucent flint and one in dark grey with paler mottling. 29.86 grams, the largest 4.94 grams and the smallest 0.45 grams.

A Mesolithic blade fragment. The blade is broken above the distal end so there is no visible striking platform or bulb of percussion on the ventral face. The dorsal face has two paralell arises. The blade has a light grey patina on the surface, at the break the patina is a mid brown. The blade fragment is 19.25 mm in length, 11.75 mm wide and weighs 0.65 grams.

Knapped flint tertiary blade struck off a prepared platform with possibly retouch at one end. The blade is long, trapizoid in section rising to triangular at the distal end and slightly curved in profile. The ventral face has a bulb of percussion at one end, percussion waves and several damage scars down the right and left edges. Eleven bladelets (max 3.1 grams, min 0.3 gram); none appear to be retouched suggesting they are have been discarded with the remainder of the knapping waste. They are finely knapped with long, parallel arises. One secondary flake (10% cortex on one side) the remainder are tertiary. Ranging from dark to light grey flint, the lighter pieces are less translucent and mottled with ligher/darker areas. Total weight 15.7 grams.

A flint bladelet with a bulb of percussion visible at one shorter end and a hinge fracture at the other; it is rounded at this latter end. The flint is a light grey colour with some patches of iron staining. There are two removals down the length of the flake on the dorsal face while the ventral face is smooth, as struck. The edges are serrated, but no obvious human retouch can be discerned. The object has the following dimensions: Weight: 3.24g, Length: 40.33mm, Width: 18.86mm, Thickness: 3.51mm. It can be dated broadly from the Mesolithic to Neolithic.
