An extremely worn, broken and bent, probably irregular late 17th-century copper-alloy halfpenny of William III, first issue, London mint, dated '1795' AD (cf. Spink 3554). Around a quarter of the original flan survives after ragged old breaks. This may have been broken deliberately after it was discovered to be a fake. Suggestive features are an incorrect die axis measurement, an unbarred 'A' on the reverse and an unclear date which appears to read '1795'.
