Object type: END SCRAPER
Broad period: MESOLITHIC
County: West Sussex
Workflow stage: Awaiting validation
An end scraper. There is long, parallel, abrupt retouch around the proximal end on the ventral face, removing the striking platform. There may also have been very short, abrupt retouch on the distal end to produce an irregular outline, although this may also be due to natural fracture when the flake was sruck from the core. Unlike with thumbnail or round scrapers the retouch covers only a small part of the circumference. The scraper was made on a secondary flake, c.5% cortex remains, with a prominent bulb of percussion. The flint is pale grey with mottled lighter grey inclusions. The s…

Object type: METAL WORKING DEBRIS
Broad period: BRONZE AGE
County: Kent
Workflow stage: Awaiting validation
A large lump of copper, it's rounded appearence suggests it has cooled from molton metal in a crucible or other mould. One side is almost flat, the top is domed and the sides rounded, it may originally have been oval as it appears to have been cut on one face, the cut is now worn.
