Medieval copper alloy gilt and enameled horse harness pendant and silvered pendant hanger, together measuring 55.59mm in length and weighing 15.98g. The pendant hanger is T-shaped and triangular in section with a split cylindrical projection at the bottom of the stem. The cross bar measures 19.21x9.13x2.88mm and the stem 6.04x7.95x4.15mm, excluding the cylindrical projection which is 5.92mm in diameter and 7.36mm in horizontal length. Medieval Horse Harness Pendant: Complete but worn cast copper alloy and enamel shield-shaped horse harness pendant. The front of the shield carries the design of a backward looking white wyvern (2 legged, winged dragon with a long tail) set against a blue or green background with a single 6 lobed white mullet in the upper right hand corner. The integrally cast suspension loop is set at a right angle to the shield at the midpoint of the upper edge. Harness pendants of this type are dated c.1200-1400.

A cast copper-alloy horse harness pendant. The pendant is in the form of a large quatrefoil with a small right-angle in each corner. In the centre is a heraldic crest, though it is somewhat difficult to describe in the absence of colour. In the centre is a shield containing a chevron between three crosses bottony/fleury or even crosslet. There appears to be the remains of enamel in the background of the shield, and so the heraldy might best be described as 'gules a chevron between three crosses bottony or'. A worn cast copper alloy enamelled heraldic harness pendant of probable 14th-century (c.1250 - c.1450) date. The pendant is worn and abraded. It is sub-triangular (shield-shaped) in plan and sub-rectangular in cross-section. The edges of the shield are slightly bevelled and the profile of the pendant is slightly bowed (convex). A cast copper-alloy Roman harness pendant of a type generally dated to the 3rd century. It is flat with a broken transverse suspension loop at the top. Below the loop it has a kite-shaped upper body with a very elongated lower point. The upper part is decorated on the front with two incised lines marking out a lozenge shape with the loop at the top point. Cast copper alloy harness pendant dating to the Medieval period. The object is lozenge shaped in plan with a circular suspension loop projecting from the top. The object bears the heraldic device bendy or (gold) and azure (blue). Bendy or and azure are the arms of the Montfort, Mountfort or Mountford (spelling optional) family, the label is a mark of difference indicating it is the arms of the eldest son. The reverse is flat and undecorated. The object can be dated to the 13th century.
