A cast copper-alloy spout possibly from a tap or a ewer of later medieval or post-medieval date. The hollow spout is tubular, curving gradually, with a transverse ridge on the upper surface, running across half of the spout. One face of the ridge has a rough edge and probably the ridge indicated where it was joined to the vessel. The copper alloy now has a light green patina interspersed with black. A roman ceramic body sherd with handle, probably a jar or pitcher of black burnished ware, dating to AD 43-410. The sherd has a medium hard fired, fabric, that is a dark grey colour at its core with a medium orange inner surface and a layer of orange under the black surface on the outer side. It has common fine sand temper and large chalk (up to 3mm) and and patinated grey stone inclusions (up to c.1.5mm). Part of a medieval or post-medieval cast copper alloy pot leg and foot. The leg is sub-trapezoid in section with a narrower, slightly convex back and flat front. It is broken off just above the foot. It widens to terminate in a flat, extended foot, which, when placed on a flat surface, sets the object at an angle and has a D-shaped imprint with a straight front edge. Three body sherds that refit to become one fragment of a Medieval cooking pot dating to c. AD 1150 to 1350. The sherds are both highly abraded and have been reburnt giving them a hard brittle feel. Each of the sherds are predominantly reddish orange in colour with one large surface being a burnt blackish brown colour from burning. Each sherd has common rounded ironstone and patinated chert inclusions up to 2mm and 2.5mm respecively. One end of a larger flat copper alloy piece, probably a handle, that is flat on both surfaces and rectangular in cross section. In plan the plate is irregularly shaped but can be divided into two sections. The first section is placed at the item's break. Post-medieval copper alloy pot leg and foot dating to c. AD 1500 to 1700. The leg is D-shaped in cross section with a flat back and a convex front. Any trace of ribs on the outer face is now unclear. The leg terminates in a very worn foot, almost oval now in cross section and rounded at the slightly widened base, separated from the leg by a raised transverse collar. The piece is 42.04mm tall, 29.72mm wide at the foot, 17.8mm thick and weighs 71.6g. Cast copper alloy vessels were widely used from AD1200 to 1700 for serving and cooking. A base fragment of a greyware ceramic vessel dating to the Roman period (c. AD 43 - 410). The base is almost flat, with wear marks and more recent scratches on the underside. There is very little of the vessel's body that remains adhered to the base, but there is enough to suggest an open profile vessel form, too little survives to estimate the diameter. The fragment is a blue-grey in colour, with brownish patina. The hard fired fabric is non-micaceous with abundant very fine sand temper and occasional rounded iron stone inclusions. A fragment of clear, uncoloured glass dating from either the Roman period or Post-medieval. The fragment is very roughly triangular in shape measuring 41.5mm by 39.4mm by 29.7mm. It is of uneven thickness to a maximum of 2.3mm. The piece is curved, the degree of curvature (i.e. distance from the central part of the convex area to a line joining the furthest extremities) being c7mm.
