Medieval cast lead-alloy circular uni-faced token. The token has a raised design of square topped shield with a chequey pattern on one side. The reverse of the token has an raised five petalled flower. Above the shield is a piercing through the token, possibly secondary. It is 22.1mm in diameter, 3.1mm thick and weighs 6.14 grams. A copper-alloy post-medieval trader's token of the mid to late 17th century. The token is fairly worn and suffers from some corrosion so reading it is not easy. However, the obverse legend may read THO. CA[TTER]B[ANKE] and possibly [IN] LEITC[HFIELD] TC on the reverse, making it a token of Thomas Catterhanke, bailiff of Litchfield. A shield can be discerned in the centre of the obverse. It measures 17.1 mm in diameter, 1.1 mm thick and weighs 1.5 grams.
