A Post Medieval lead bifaced token or possibly weight probably dating to between c. AD1500 - 1800 of Powell type 2. One side bears the raised letters L O retrograde with a line underneath. The other face is less clear and has at least two vertical lines separated by a pellet, one joining a horizontal line, probably an H or a 4. It measures 26.4mm in diameter and weighs 18.9g, about one third of an ouce. A medieval to post-medieval cast lead-alloy circular unifaced token of Powell type 1 (c. AD 1250-1800). The token has a raised design of a petalled flower with the 8 petals reaching the rim. Lead tokens had a wide variety of uses and were made locally; they are therefore hard to date precisely and could be Medieval or Post Medieval in date. Class: Powell Class 1
