Medieval cast copper alloy strap slide. The frame is five sided with a flat base, vertical sides and a peak in the centre of the top bar. The sides and base are rectangular in cross section and the top bar is D shaped with a flat inner side. There is a hole through the base of the frame, half way along, which would have held a separate circular rivet, now missing, the hole is filled with iron corrosion suggesting the rivet was iron. The frame is 13.8mm long, 14.8mm tall and 2.7mm thick, it weighs 0.99 grams. Egan and Pritchard (1991) illustrate a very similar example (page 231, fig …

Medieval copper alloy hooked strap fitting. The upper part of the fitting is in the form of a bar the base of which curves forward then back to form a large open loop (hook). The upper bar is triangular in section with a flat back and ridge running down the centre. The bar widens and thickens from 4.3mm wide by 2.9mm thick at the top to 6.2mm by 5.0mm thick at the junction with the hook. An incomplete early Post-medieval copper-alloy eye section from a toggle clasp. The section is comprised of a circular 'eye' containing an irregular, but roughly cross shaped aperture. A circular loop and an incomplete plate extends from one side of the eye. The artefact has been bent.

An incomplete copper-alloy probable Medieval strap clasp with a leaf shaped projection. The clasp is incomplete, a leaf shaped projection expands from the roller, there is a circular perforation adjacent to the roller. The bar is complete, a small projection protrudes from one end.

An incomplete probably Post-Medieval (1500-1700) openwork probable strap distributor with domed centre boss. It is missing just less than half. Measures 29.28x29.04x8.13mm and weighs 6.7g. The plate around the centre boss (c.12mm diameter) is more or less circular in shape with an oval perforation in each quarter (although only two of these remain intact). Between each quarter protrudes a semi-circular lug (again, only two survive) with a rivet hole c.3mm in diameter just below (three rivet holes survive).
