A cast copper alloy harness fitting of Medieval date. The bar is rectangular, slightly curved and when viewed from above swells around two pierced holes along its length. To either side and between these holes are three rectangular loops projecting up from the bar. At one end of the bar there is a moulded terminal with a collared, D-shaped pierced projection beyond which is an elongated knop. A Medieval copper alloy shield shaped mount with the stub of an integrally cast rivet on the reverse. The front of the mount is flat and the shield has a straight top with curved sides meeting at a point at the bottom. The front of the mount is decorated with three bends gules, three alternate diagonal bands of red enamel and plain copper-alloy running from top left to bottom right. Medieval cast copper-alloy shield shaped mount. The mount has a flat front plate in the shape of a triangular shield with a straight top and slightly convex sides meeting at a point at the bottom. It is badly corroded but has a design of checks, alternating between depressed and raised. The raised ones were once all blue enamelled, a few have retained their enamel. An incomplete medieval (1260-1500) copper alloy heraldic shield shaped Harness Mount 'Chequy', missing one corner, all of its enamel and gilded or silvering decoration, and most of the integral attachment spike. It measures 37.50x28.71x3.85mm and weighs 11.02g. The mount is 2.13mm thick and decorated with 6 rows of alternating squares in a checkerboard patter. The raised squares would have been gilded or silvered (Or or Argent) and the slightly recessed areas would have been filled with a coloured enamel. Medieval cast copper alloy suspension bar for a harness pendant of probable 13th to 14th century date. The mount is T-shaped with a horizontal top bar ending in a rounded lobe at one end with a separate copper-alloy rivet through it; the other end is lost to an old break. The sides of the bar curve inwards slightly between the ends and the centre. From the centre two bars project down which would have formed the loops to hold the axis bar on which the pendant hung. An almost complete cast copper-alloy enamelled medieval mount depicting a lion passant regardant, probably a harness mount. The mount is broadly square with a trapezoidal protrusion at two opposing ends. The wider end of each 'tab', the furthest edge of the protrusion, is perforated in each corner for attachment. No rivets survive; on one protrusion both holes have abraded through dramatically; on the other one of the holes has abraded through the corner.
