Part of a Post Medieval copper alloy double loop oval buckle dating from c AD1500-1650. One loop is missing at an old, worn break. The central strap bar is narrowed with a small moulded knop at either end. The pin is missing. The front of the frame has bevelled edges and the back is flat and undecorated. The piece has a brown patina. It measures 25.9mm in length,1 9.3mm in width, 2.5mm in thickness and weighs 2.94g. A small, complete Medieval to Post Medieval copper alloy double loop oval buckle dating to c. 1350 to 1650. The loops are oval with slightly expanded outer edges. The frame is D-shaped in cross section. The frame has bevelled inside and outside edges and there is a pin rest at each side of the frame. A copper-alloy Medieval single-looped oval frame dating to c. AD 1250-1400. The outer edge is widened into a bar with slightly rounded ends. There are narrow raised collars between the knops and the centre. The sides are convex. The inner bar is narrowed, recessed and offset with slight knops at each end. Medieval cast copper alloy buckle frame missing its pin. The frame is D-shaped with a swollen outer edge and knops at either end of the recessed and offset strap bar. The buckle measures 16.75mm in length, 24.27mm in width, 3.87mm in thickness and weighs 2.53g. Similar buckles are illustrated in Egan (2007:87) e.g. no.481, where thery are categorised as Meols type 2 and it is suggested they date from the late 13th to early 14th centuries (ibid:88).

A Medieval cast copper alloy single looped D-shaped buckle with narrowed and offset bar which retains its plate, similar to Meols Type 7, dating to c. AD 1225-1400. The rounded outer edge of the buckle is widened projecting into the loop and out of it creating an oval surface that is 12.4mm wide. Post Medieval copper alloy buckle frame dating to the period cAD1550 - 1650. The double oval looped frame has a moulded shell like knop in the centre of each loop and a small knop at each end of the narrowed strap bar. The shell shaped knops have convex curved outer edges and converge to an inner point that projects into the loop slightly. An incomplete Medieval (1350 - 1450 AD) copper alloy oval, lipped buckle frame of Meols Type 4, missing its pin. The bar is slightly flattened, narrowed and offset. The slightly expanded point (lip) in the centre of the outer edge of the frame has an incised transverse notch for the pin. The buckle measures 17.79mm in length, 15.03mm in width, 1.79mm in thickness and weighs 0.83g. Similar buckle frames from London (Egan & Pritchard 1991: 70, nos.279-283) date between AD 1350 and 1450.
