A medieval copper alloy book clasp of Howsam type A.1.2 (2016, 30-31), made from copper alloy and cast in one piece dating to 1100-1500. The terminal comprises three sections; the zoomorphic head, its central attachment point and its projecting terminal loop. The head is made of a large flat-sided terminal knop. A copper-alloy book clasp dating to c.16th to 17th century. The fitting consists of a rectangular plate with a hooking tab at one end and a flaring scalloped fan tail at the other. The hooking tab end is expanded then narrowed in a T-shape and decorated with two wide vertical grooves then bent into a hook. A Medieval copper alloy book clasp of Howsam type A.8.1, probably dating to c. AD 1350-1450. The object is rectangular and made of a single folded sheet of copper alloy. At the attachment end are three rivet holes with two separately made copper alloy rivets still in situ. The sheet narrows at the folded end, creating a rectangular projection. An incomplete medieval copper alloy mount dating to the period c. AD 1300-1400. It consists of a central circular convex boss, with four arms projecting from the cardinal points. Two of the arms terminate in old breaks. The existing two arms expand in width away from the central boss and terminate in trifoliate (fluer de lis) mouldings. Each arm has a circular rivet hole trhoguh the terminal. The rivets are missing. Gilded copper alloy book clasp of Howsam type A.1.3 and medieval date. Cast circular plate with central drilled aperture of diameter 4mm. The plate is decorated with finely incised radial lines within an incised border, detailing which retains gilding. Late Medieval copper alloy strap fitting, probably dating between the 15th and 16th centuries and possibly for a book. It is has a broadly trefoil shaped plate which is bent down at the tip. There are two circular holes in the plate, a smaller one near the tip and a larger one through the centre. The offset strap bar is thin and one end is twisted and probably broken. A hook piece from a copper alloy Post Medieval (c.1550-1750) book clasp. It is a sub-rectangular piece of copper alloy sheet, with a slightly flared attachment end. At the opposite end is a curved hook (3.6mm wide) the end of which is missing. Below this the main body of the clasp is 9.0mm in width, 9.1mm at the attachment end. At the centre of the attachment end is a perforation through the upper surface for a rivet, now missing.
