A slightly abraded and bent lead seal matrix of medieval date (13th-14th century). The matrix is of pointed oval shape, broken at each pointed end, presumably removing any suspension loop or lug as it is otherwise flat. The die features a central elongated longitudinal lion or leopard passant, within an incised border surrounded by a personal legend. The legend reads: + S' IOh... (LII) W... (Seal of John, son of W[...]). This matrix is corroded and has been bent up at one of the tips; the sides have become crumbly.

A decorative lead fire mark of 19th century date. It is square in form, flat and with some slight post-depositional damage to the edges. The back face is flat and undecorated although has a slight lip visible in places around its outer edge. The front face has extensive moulded relief decoration. An artefact of uncertain function consisting of a lead core capped with a sheet copper-alloy dome at one end. The main leaden element is corroded and abraded, but broadly cylindrical and is able to sit on its flat, sub-circular base. The other end is shallowly domed and covered with copper-alloy sheeting, abraded at its circumference. At its summit it appears to be perforated, although this is unclear, as is its purpose. The object may have acted as a weighted terminal to something rather than a weight in its own right. The copper alloy cap has a variable mid-green colour.

A cast lead seal matrix of medieval date (13th-14th century AD). The lozengiform matrix has a flat and plain, slightly dished lower surface with an integral semicircular suspension loop at the apex at which the inscription begins (max. H.: 8.8mm). The die features a central flower surrounded by a personal legend. The flower is of an elaborate quatrefoil form with eight petals around a central circular head. A lead disc, blank on one side and with an impression of the obverse of an VRBS ROMA Roman nummus. For similar impressed objects, see this database at: LON-8C0467, WAW-013507 and LIN-FE2DF8, which has been described as a probably metal working hoard, or maybe a forgers hoard. A suggestion by Dr. Martin Henig for LON-8C0467 was a tessera used possibly as a pass to allow entry into a military building or the Baths, for example. An alternative possiblity is as a seal, but theer are no holes for the attachment of cord.

Cast lead vessel repair (pot mend). It is roughly oval in plan and H-shaped in section with two irregularly shaped outer sides, one larger than the other. In the groove created between the outer sides there are fragment of the original pot. The pottery has a bright orange fabric. The whole object measures 48.0mm long, 25.4mm wide and 12.4mm thick. It weighs 70.5g. Pot mends of this form are found in both Roman and Medieval periods, as a common way to repair broken pottery. The fabric appears similar to Medieval cooking pots although it is too fragmentary to be completely certain.

Post medieval cast lead four-disc cloth seal issued at Taunton. The seal has four disks arranged in two conjoined pairs with a tab between. It has been bent back on itself at the tab so the pairs of disks lie up. The two inner disks are stamped. One is stamped with a portcullis, the edge of this disk is bent over on itself obscuring some of the design. The other of the inner seals is stamped TAVNT[ON] encircling 18 or 78. the outer disks are the connecting part. Post medieval lead cloth seal, issued during the reign of Queen Anne. Part of a four-disc seal from the series featuring a monarch's head. It is comprised of four discs in two conjoined pairs, joined in the centre with a rectangular tab. The seal is bent in the centre at the tab so the pairs of disks are back to back. A projecting tab on the back of one outer disk has been pushed through a hole in the other outer disk and stamped flat, joining them. Post Medieval cast lead button with integral shank which is now broken. The button is circular with a slight projection at one edge producing a 'drop' shape. It has a slightly concave back and conical front, producing a broadly triangular cross section. The conical front is decorated with three raised concentric rings around a central pellet with thinner raised lines radiating out from the centre to the edge.
