Body sherd from a small cup, bowl or jar with almost vertical sides. The fabric is mid orange with some fine quartz temper. The exterior is decorated with white slip interrupted by four turned parallel lines at the top and indented ovals with dignal scratches across them below. A yellow glaze over all appears brown on the inside and areas where the slip has been removed. This form of decoration is typical of South Somerset ware of the late 17th to 19th centurys altough the scratched ovals are slightly unusual.

Twenty sherds of Roman Poole-Wareham Black Burnished ware (BB1), 100-410 AD, sixteen body sherds and four rim sherds. The sherds mostly have dark inner and outer surfaces and a slightly lighter inner core; some have re-oxdised to shades from mid-orange to mid-grey from later burning others appear lighter as the darker surface has been lost. A few, mostly the rims, still have traces of burnishing but most are highly abraded with the original surface worn away. The fabric is fairly coarse, with the distinctive cods-roe fracture.
