An incomplete Roman copper alloy bracelet dating to cAD 300 to 400. The bracelet is formed of a strip of copper alloy which has been bent into an irregular U-shape. One end is complete and narrows to catch and the other finishes in a straight, patinated break. The catch is formed of a hook; the hook is narrower than the main bracelet with a thin initial section then a thickened terminal which is round in plan and triangular in profile with the upper edge of the triangle slightly hooked over. A fragment of a Roman copper alloy brooch. Only the foot and catchplate remain. The bow thins and narrows evenly to the pointed foot. Close to the break in the bow is a small circular indentation and the foot is slightly thickened although vary narrow, with two transverse notches. The catchplate is complete with a circular hole drilled through the centre. The piece measures 29.0mm, 5.75mm in width, 3.95mm in thickness and weighs 3.63g. An incomplete Roman copper alloy initial T-shaped brooch probably dating to cAD 50-150. Only the lower part of the bow and catchplate remain. The top section of the remaining bow has a pattern of four evenly spaced converging incised lines which run down the bow to the start of the foot where there end in a double transverse incised line. The bow tapers further to four incised transverse lines just above the raised knop at the foot. A Medieval cast copper alloy single looped D-shaped buckle with narrowed and offset bar which retains its plate, similar to Meols Type 7, dating to c. AD 1225-1400. The rounded outer edge of the buckle is widened projecting into the loop and out of it creating an oval surface that is 12.4mm wide. A complete circular flat mount, possibly originally a coin with two holes pierced in it. T The mount is made of a flat (c. 0.9mm thick) plate that is circular in plan (15.2mm diameter). While completely worn with no design the size suggests a Roman coin. It is pierced near two opposite sides from its outside surface through to the back by circular holes (c. 1.5mm diameter). within these holes are the remains of two iron rivets. that project c.0.7mm from the reverse of the mount. An incomplete Iron Age La Tene IBa type brooch dating to the period c.400 - 275 BC. The majority of the brooch survives it missing only its head and integral sprung pin. The brooch is broken at the head with only a small part of the circular cross sectioned wire of the spring remaining running vertically down for c.2mm before arching steeply upwards from the head into the bow. Iron corrosion around this area suggests there may have been an iron cross bar. The bow expands into a D-shaped cross section with a flat back and convex front.
