A cast copper-alloy circular trade weight of probable Medieval date (1400-1500). The weight is flat and the front face has an incuse crown close to the centre. It has a circumferential groove near the edge. The sides are vertical and the rear face has numerous multi-directional file marks. This weight has a mid-green patina and is corroded in places. Diameter: 30.3mm; thickness: 4.9mm. Weight: 25.53g. (0.9005 ounces). A fragment of a post-Medieval skillet handle (1679-1717 AD). The fragment is sub-rectangular in plan, flat on the upper face and convex on the underside ('D'-shaped in cross-section). On the upper face there are incised letters: S E with an incised linear groove above and below the letters. This handle has a dark green patina with patches of corrosion. A misshapen Medieval cast copper-alloy strap fitting, a loop for a strap union (1200-1400). This 'U'-shaped loop is part of a strap junction / union. It consists of a narrow shaft, rectangular in cross-section, which expands at one end to accommodate a hole that contains a separate copper-alloy rivet. At the opposite end there is an integral flat plate which is roughly square in plan. This object is reddish purple and has light green corrosion products. An almost complete copper alloy strap end of Medieval date, c. AD 1330 – c. AD 1380 (Egan and Pritchard 1991, 135, ref. 620). Length: 31.5mm; width: 21.3mm and 5.5mm thick. Weight: 8.81g. This tongue-shaped strap end is made of sheet copper alloy. The front plate has sides which are bent at angle of 90° to which a separate back plate is soldered. An incomplete and unfinished cast lead seal matrix of Medieval, thirteenth century date (c. AD 1200 – c. AD 1300). Length: 55.0mm; width: 32.7mm and 12.4mm thick. Weight: 40.11g. An incomplete Medieval cast copper-alloy pointed oval (vesica-shaped) personal seal matrix dating to the 13th century (1200-1300). The matrix is flat and the front is engraved with a central motif with a surrounding inscription. At the rear it has a central raised rib along the longitudinal axis. The suspension loop is now missing, with a scar at the top of the reverse, and the matrix is very worn. The motif is a single engraved fleur-de-lis and no borders survive. A complete cast copper alloy mount of post-Medieval date. (c.1600-c.1750). The mount is convex at the front and flat at the rear. In plan it is in the form of a heart with a fleur-de-lis terminal. The side fleurs of the fleur-de-lis curve round to join the ridge and thus have circular holes within. At the rear are two integral tapering spikes, circular in cross-section.
