A probably incomplete and very worn Early Early-Medieval (400-600) copper alloy sword scabbard chape, broken across one projecting loop and probably missing another. In profile it is U-shaped with a globular projection from the base. One arm ends in a damaged loop, the other (shorter) in a worn trefoil. Measures 35.55x8.42x12.79mm and weighs 6.25g. Both arms are D-shaped in cross-section, being flat to the inside surface.
