Extending from the reverse slightly off-centre is an integrally cast sub-trapezoidal shaft, which extends out roughly 2.8mm and then breaks at a worn break. A copper-alloy Post Medieval hooked clasp sword belt fitting dating to 1500 to 1650. The fitting is the 'eye' and not the 'hook'. The body of the fitting would have been sub-rectangular but has two breaks one in each corner, the piece tapers into the 'eye' loop by a double moulded crescent.
