A corroded cast copper-alloy Roman strap mount often described as 'vulvate' as the central motif is thought to imitate a vulva. The mount is sub-rectangular in form with a central raised oval boss (14.6 by 10.1mm). The short ends are squared off while the longer ones curve outwards slightly. The boss features a central longitudinal incision along most of its length. The lower surface is slightly concave towards its centre, either side of which two integral, fungiform studs would have protruded; one is now broken and vestigial. A copper-alloy thick sheet fragment probably from a medieval strap-end (c. 14th century AD). The fragment is sub-square and flat. It is abraded on all sides, but comparison with published strap-ends suggests that it survives almost complete in width, but with significant longitudinal losses above and below. The upper surface of the sheet plate is decorated with incised lines. A central pair of longitudinal lines has incised diagonals running between them at roughly equal intervals. A lead token of Post-Medieval date. Weight 57.01g (0.1257pounds or 2.0110 ounces), diameter 33.21mm, thickness 7.61mm. The upper surface of the artefact is decorated with a raised symbol, possibly two letters joined together which could be CH or more likely HD. It seems that the symbol was a HD, where the vertical of the 'D' was also the right-hand vertical of the 'H' however it must be noted that the lower part of the letters, if this is what they are, have been worn or scraped away leaving just a faint mark visible today. Post Medieval copper alloy double-looped oval buckle with an iron pin and separate strap-plate. The loops form one continuous oval outer frame and the outer sides of the loops are slightly widened.
