An incomplete cast copper alloy dagger. The dagger is broadly triangular with a straight sides tapering to a rounded point. It is almost flat in cross section, with a defined, thinned edges leaving a low central rib on both faces. At the hilt end the remnant of a flared tang with a semi-circular hole on either side for missing rivets. Both faces have some raised and uneven corrosion products, particularly at the tang end. An incomplete copper-alloy Roman brooch of Colchester derivative, Polden Hill type, Mackreth (2011) Group 5, flat wing ends type, Western Group, dating to the later 1st to mid 2nd century AD. The pin and part of the pin mechanism are missing, as is the lower part of the bow the foot and catch-plate. The head has short wings with circular end caps to hold the cross bar. An incomplete large Roman copper alloy hinged developed T-shaped brooch, probably dating to c. 75 - 150. The brooch comprises of the upper bow, the majority of the wing casing and a broken head loop, the lower bow, catchplate and pin are all missing. At the head of the brooch the cylindrical wings survive almost intact except for the tip of the left wing where white cement is visible. A Roman copper alloy initial T-shaped brooch, probably dating to c. AD 50-100. Only the head and upper part of the bow of the brooch survive. The wings are broken at the end and measure 23.59mm in width and are cylindrical with a sub-rectangular slot cut into the reverse to accommodate a hinged pin, now lost. White cement can be seen in the ends of the broken wings, to hold the cross bar. The bow is D-shaped in section with a flat back and convex front. A complete post-medieval copper-alloy scabbard chape, probably for a dagger. The chape is tongue shaped, ie with sides that are gradually converging from the top to the triangular base with a projecting angular knop at the lower point. It is C-shaped in section, hollow on the reverse (apart from the knop) with thin convex curved sides and slightly convex front. Incomplete Late Medieval or Post Medieval cast copper-alloy double-loop buckle frame missing the pin. The surviving loop is rectangular with slightly convex sides and rounded corners.Only the stub of the second loop remains and this may have been rectangular or oval. A cast copper-alloy brooch, either a small shallow saucer brooch or a Suzuki Class B or C button brooch of early early-medieval date (5th - 6th century AD) with style I decoration. The brooch is circular and 18.15mm in diameter and weighs 2.23 grams. The rim is upturned and offset 1mm within this is a further concentric circle of raised copper that surrounds the central design.
