A Post-Medieval copper alloy handle from a cooking vessel such as a posnet or skillet. The handle is a shallow 'D' shape in cross section, with a flat upper surface and a convex, rounded reverse. There are rough breaks on both ends, one ot a c30 degree angle, the other transverse. The upper surface has three parallel but not equidistant (two on one side being closer together), longitudinal grooves but is otherwise undecorated.. It is roughly oval in plan and bullet-shaped with two irregularly shaped outer pieces of oxidised, white-patinated lead, one larger than the other, sandwiching a fragment of the original ceramic pot. The larger lead piece is slightly concave while the smaller piece is domed. An incomplete late Iron Age copper alloy Nauheim-derivative brooch of expanded bow form (Feugère 1985 type 11a). The bow and most of the catchplate survive. The bow retains about six centimetres of the spring at the head. The coils of the spring and the integral pin have been lost to an old break. The upper part of the bow consists of a circular dome, convex at the front and concave at the rear (17.6mm in diameter and 5mm deep). A copper alloy silver plated contemporary copy of a halfcrown of Charles I (AD 1625-1649) dating to AD 1634 to 1649. The coin has a thin sheet of silver over the top onto which the dies were stamped.
