A cast lead token of Medieval date.
The circular token is of thin section but survives intact. On one side, executed in low relief, is the image of a hooded figure standing right, the right hand holding a pole with a mesh bag at the upper end. A swag extends diagonally across the body, while the top of his legs - the area below the knee is not visible - are covered with a vertically segmented garment. The left arm bends upwards from the elbow, the hand holding a stylised cup, from which the figure drinks. The other side of the token is occupied by a shield containing a plain chevron…

A medieval to post-medieval cast lead-alloy circular unifaced token of Powell type 21 (c. AD 1250-1800). The token has a raised design of a wheel with eight spokes running from the centre to meet a circular line.
Lead tokens had a wide variety of uses and were made locally; they are therefore hard to date precisely and could be Medieval or Post Medieval in date.

A lead token of Post-Medieval date. Weight 57.01g (0.1257pounds or 2.0110 ounces), diameter 33.21mm, thickness 7.61mm. The upper surface of the artefact is decorated with a raised symbol, possibly two letters joined together which could be CH or more likely HD. It seems that the symbol was a HD, where the vertical of the 'D' was also the right-hand vertical of the 'H' however it must be noted that the lower part of the letters, if this is what they are, have been worn or scraped away leaving just a faint mark visible today.
These tokens were usually locally made with no references a…

A copper-alloy post-medieval trader's token of the mid to late 17th century. The token is fairly worn and suffers from some corrosion so reading it is not easy. However, the obverse legend may read THO. CA[TTER]B[ANKE] and possibly [IN] LEITC[HFIELD] TC on the reverse, making it a token of Thomas Catterhanke, bailiff of Litchfield. A shield can be discerned in the centre of the obverse. It measures 17.1 mm in diameter, 1.1 mm thick and weighs 1.5 grams.

The reverse of the token has an raised five petalled flower. Above the shield is a piercing through the token, possibly secondary. It is 22.1mm in diameter, 3.1mm thick and weighs 6.14 grams. Lead tokens had a wide variety of uses and were made locally, they are therefore hard to date precisely. The piercing and use of a coat of a…

Cast lead circular unifaced token. The obverse of the token is decorated with the raised initials G over GF or GE. The reverse is blank. The token is 24.8mm in diameter, 2.33mm thick and weighs 6.84 grams. Tokens with simple designs were very easy to make, had a range of uses and continued in use for a long period. The arrangement of initials in this format was common in 17th century for married couples, the upper initial indicated the surname and the lower initials the husband and wives first names, suggesting this token dates to that time.

Post Medieval cast lead-alloy uni-face circular token, 1500-1850 AD. The token has the raised initials TP on one side. The reverse appears to have a raised pellet towards one edge but this could possibly be a casting flaw. The token measures 18.2 mm in diameter, 1.9 mm thick, and weighs 3.84 grams.
Lead tokens were locally made and had a wide variety of uses; they are therefore hard to date precisely but those with initials are thought to be Post Medieval in date.

Medieval to Post Medieval cast lead alloy circular unifaced token (1250-1850 AD). The token has been cast with a raised design of a equal arm cross on the obverse and a flat, undecorated reverse. The token measures 15.8mm in diameter, 1.2mm thick and weighs 1.80 grams. The edges are starting to laminate and crumble away suggesting it has a higher tin content than usual.
Lead tokens had a wide variety of uses and were made locally; they are therefore hard to date precisely and could be Medieval or Post Medieval in date (1250-1850 AD).
