A rim sherd probably from a medieval cooking pot (c.1100 - c. 1400 AD). It has a pale grey-brown silty fabric with c. 15 - c. 20% medium quartz temper; the inclusions have leached out slightly on the surfaces. The piece has a rolled over rim projecting at ninety degrees on the outer face (Th.: 12.45mm); below the edge it has a slightly concave inner side and convex outer. It is too small and irregular to identify the original diameter.

Two sherds of Roman greyware, a base sherd and a rim sherd. Both sherds have a medium grey-brown fabric with abundant, c. 30% fine sand temper. The base fragment has only a small part of the base on it but shows the convex wall rises from the flat base at about sixty degrees. The rim fragment has an everted rim, possibly from a jar, with a slightly widened and flattened top ending in a slightly rounded outer edge. It is too short and irregular to estimate the original diameter (L.: 57.1mm). They weigh 28.08 grams together.

The bowl of a post-medieval clay tobacco pipe broken at its junction with the stem. The bowl is swollen, convex curved between the mouth and heel on both sides and projects out over the heel. The mouth is parallel to the stem. The sub-oval flat heel projects only a little from the base of the bowl and is wider and longer than the base, starting level with the stem. This large heel is stamped with the maker's mark, in this case the incuse letters GEO / WEBB / IN / CHARD within a stamped pellet border. A post medieval clay tobacco pipe dating to the period c AD1680 to 1720. Most of the bowl is missing but the heel is stamped with the makers mark: WILL/ PITCH/ER in three lines within a pellet circle. The stem is broken at an old break. The pipe measures 51.3mm in length, 14.7 in width and weighs 6.37g. William Pitcher is listed as a maker from Beaminster in Dorset active c.1700 (Oswald 1975 p167). Part of the body and the base of the handle of a large Medieval glazed pitcher dating to the 12th century. The piece has a high fired buff to pale orange fabric with remains of olive green glaze on the outside. Three body sherds that refit to become one fragment of a Medieval cooking pot dating to c. AD 1150 to 1350. The sherds are both highly abraded and have been reburnt giving them a hard brittle feel. Each of the sherds are predominantly reddish orange in colour with one large surface being a burnt blackish brown colour from burning. A base fragment of a greyware ceramic vessel dating to the Roman period (c. AD 43 - 410). The base is almost flat, with wear marks and more recent scratches on the underside. There is very little of the vessel's body that remains adhered to the base, but there is enough to suggest an open profile vessel form, too little survives to estimate the diameter. The fragment is a blue-grey in colour, with brownish patina. The hard fired fabric is non-micaceous with abundant very fine sand temper and occasional rounded iron stone inclusions. A Roman ceramic rim sherd from a Black Burnished Ware (BB1, from Wareham/Poole Harbour, Dorset) vessel, probably a bowl, probably dating to c. AD 44-150. A hard fired dark grey/black fabric with an abundant sub-angular quartz temper, burnished on both the internal and external surface. It is from a simple open-mouthed vessel with a beaded rim and no decoration. The sherd measures 28.67mm in length, 20.45mm in width and weighs 5.01g. A similar example can be found in Seager Smith and Davies (1993) form 13, dated to between the first century and the early second century AD.

Body sherd from a small cup, bowl or jar with almost vertical sides. The fabric is mid orange with some fine quartz temper. The exterior is decorated with white slip interrupted by four turned parallel lines at the top and indented ovals with dignal scratches across them below. A yellow glaze over all appears brown on the inside and areas where the slip has been removed. This form of decoration is typical of South Somerset ware of the late 17th to 19th centurys altough the scratched ovals are slightly unusual.

It is tempered with varying quantities of poorly sorted rounded quartz (less than 2mm), dark iron ore (less than 1mm), and sparse fine mica (less than 0.5mm), with frequent rounded voids (less than 1.5mm).
