The central strap bar is narrowed with a small moulded knop at either end. The pin is missing. The front of the frame has bevelled edges and the back is flat and undecorated. Medieval cast copper alloy buckle frame missing its pin. The frame is D-shaped with a swollen outer edge and knops at either end of the recessed and offset strap bar. The buckle measures 16.75mm in length, 24.27mm in width, 3.87mm in thickness and weighs 2.53g. Similar buckles are illustrated in Egan (2007:87) e.g. no.481, where thery are categorised as Meols type 2 and it is suggested they date from the late 13th to early 14th centuries (ibid:88).
