Part of a Post Medieval copper alloy double loop oval buckle dating from c AD1500-1650. One loop is missing at an old, worn break. The central strap bar is narrowed with a small moulded knop at either end. The pin is missing. The front of the frame has bevelled edges and the back is flat and undecorated. The piece has a brown patina. It measures 25.9mm in length,1 9.3mm in width, 2.5mm in thickness and weighs 2.94g. Medieval cast copper alloy buckle frame missing its pin. The frame is D-shaped with a swollen outer edge and knops at either end of the recessed and offset strap bar. The buckle measures 16.75mm in length, 24.27mm in width, 3.87mm in thickness and weighs 2.53g. Similar buckles are illustrated in Egan (2007:87) e.g. no.481, where thery are categorised as Meols type 2 and it is suggested they date from the late 13th to early 14th centuries (ibid:88).

A Post Medieval copper alloy shoe buckle pin and attachment chape dating to between cAD1660 - 1790. The frame of the chape is trapezoidal in shape (often described as 'pot shaped) with rounded outer corners and an internal spike on the outside edge. The pin bar is made of two cylinders with a slot between joined by a crescent shaped internal protrusion with a makers mark of a raised IW within a recessed rectangle. A Medieval copper alloy single loop buckle dating to between cAD1250 -1400. The frame is D-shaped with a small knop in the centre of the outside edge holding the slot for the pin, which is missing. There is a small knop at each end of the strap bar which is narrowed and offset. The buckle measures 19.40mm in length, 11.60mm in width, 1.78mm in thickness and weighs 0.82g. This is an example of a Meols type 4 dating to the lte 14th century similar to Egan (2007, 88) no. 496.

An incomplete Medieval copper alloy 'locking buckle' dating to c AD 1300 - 1550. It is missing the end of the U-shaped locking arm but is otherwise complete. One end of the frame is sub-circular in cross section and acted as a strap bar. The other end (the outer side) is widened and bevelled on the under side so it thins towards the middle of the frame.
