A Medieval cast copper-alloy and enamelled heraldic harness pendant (c. 1255-c. 1303). The pendant is in the form of a shield with a straight top and curving sides. It has a central suspension loop at the top turned through 90° to the plane of the pendant. The rear face is plain. There is no patina. The device may be described thus: Gules a fess between six martlets or (a gold horizontal band with three martlets above and below) There is a tiny fleck of gilding on the horizontal band and also on one of the martlets. An incomplete cast copper-alloy shield-shaped harness pendant of medieval date (c.1200-c. 1400). The pendant has a straight top, curving sides and a pointed base. At the centre of the top of the shield there is a suspension bar with a loop turned through 90° to the plane of the pendant. The rear face of the pendant is plain. Most of the loop is missing and has abraded breaks.
