A Medieval cast lead alloy seal matrix dating from the late 12th to mid-13th century AD. The seal is circular in plan and discoidal; it has been broken irregularly into two pieces, possibly from a post-discovery attempt to open the object up, which had been folded in situ. It has been decorated on the outer seal face with an indented octofoil, which is surrounded by the legend: SIG' M[A]TILDIS : DE : hOD[...]IA . A copper-alloy French (Tournai) stock jetton imitation of Royal type, dating to the Medieval date c. 1400-1500 AD. The obverse depicts a dolphin embowed, within a granulated inner circle similar to that illustrated in Barnard (1981, p120, also Plate VII, No. 61). Unlike more common types depicting a cross fleuretty within a double-stranded quatrefoil, the reverse depicts a cross feuilly within an embowed 'arcuate' cross in the centre. A complete continental sterling imitation of a Medieval long cross penny, issued by William of Hainaut, Bishop of Cambrai (1285-1296 AD). Mint: Cambrai; double-pellet stops. This sterling coin is from the latter half of his episcopate, dating to c. 1290-96. The obverse depicts a bust facing front with rose wreath instead of crown; the obverse legend reads: + GVILLS:EPISCOPVS. The reverse depicts a long cross pattee with three pellets in each quadrant; the reverse legend reads: CAMERACENSIS. Cf. Mayhew 1983, No. 88.

A Medieval continental sterling imitation of a silver coin of Edward I, probably dating from 1313-1322 AD. It was struck for Gaucher of Chatillion, at the Mint of Yves. Medieval cast lead-alloy circular uni-faced token. The token has a raised design of square topped shield with a chequey pattern on one side. The reverse of the token has an raised five petalled flower. Above the shield is a piercing through the token, possibly secondary. It is 22.1mm in diameter, 3.1mm thick and weighs 6.14 grams. A number of familys bore a chequey coat of arms including the locally prominent de Warrene family (in use 1066-1415). Medieval or Post Medieval cast copper alloy double loop buckle frame. The frame has two oval loops which are triangular in section with a flat back and steeply angled inner side and more bevelled outer side. The pin is missing. The buckle has a red brown surface with areas of green corrosion. The frame is 21.6mm long, 17.3mm wide and 2.2mm thick. It weighs 1.81 grams. Such a simple buckle is hard to date precisely, Whitehead (2003) illustrates a similar buckle (page 53, No.294) which he dates to c.1350-1650 AD.

Medieval or Post Medieval cast copper alloy double loop buckle with the remains of an iron plate attached. The loops are oval, with widened outer edges which are bevelled on the front and back. The strap bar is completely obscured by the iron plate which has traces of a pin slot on the back and seems to have been the strap plate. It is 29.6mm long, 24.1mm wide and 3.5mm thick; it weighs 8.25 grams. Whitehead (2003: 53) illustrates a similar buckle, no.293, which he dates to c,1350-1650 AD.

Medieval cast copper alloy single looped buckle frame with pin. The buckle is rectangular with rounded corners. It is highly corroded and any surface decoration has been lost. The loop of the iron pin has corroded in place at one end of the pin bar. A similar buckle can be found illustrated in Whitehead (1996, 26; ref. 126) which he dates to c1300-1500 AD.

Incomplete Medieval cast copper alloy single looped buckle frame. The strap bar and one end of the loop are lost to old breaks. The remaining end has an oval knop by the joint with the strap bar. The loop is widened and thickened towards the centre, oval in section with three, regularly spaced, oval expansions, a fourth is probably lost to the old break. Copper alloy vessel repair formed of two broadly rectangular pieces of copper alloy sheet with irregular, broken edges. They are held together by three folded copper alloy sheet rivets, probably of the 'folded lozenge style which was popular in the Medieval period. The fragment measures 59.3mm in length, 18.7mm in width and is 4.9mm at its thickest point. It weighs 12.42 grams.

Plain hollow object, probably a pommel from a sword or dagger. It is oval in plan and profile with a circular hole through the top with a break to one side and an irregular trapizoid hole thorugh a central flattened area at the bottom. The sides are otherwise plain. It's plainness makes it hard to accurately identify as it could potentially be part of an numbe of objects. Cast copper alloy strap end made of a single strip folded in half widthways at the end. In shape it is a simple rectangular with rounded corners, some of the rounding may be from wear. There is a single rivet which appears to be cast integrally with the front and then roughly hammered flat after going through the strap and a hole in the back plate. The design is of the king with sword and square topped shield standing in a ship with rectangular bow and stern and an E on a banner above the stern; there is a rose on the side of the ship. Medieval copper alloy coin weight for an Ecu a la chaise. It is square and unifaced, on the obverse is a square topped shield containing three Lis, the reverse is plain. It is 14.0 by 12.9mm and 3.2mm thick; it weighs 4.05g. This is lighter than the standard weight for an Ecu a la chaise but this is to be expected as a coin weights, are for the legal minimum rather than the average weight of a coin. Some weight may also have been lost to corrosion. This sort of weight was made in France and England between 1337-51 AD (Withers & Withers 1995, 39).
