A Medieval cast copper alloy single looped D-shaped buckle with narrowed and offset bar which retains its plate, similar to Meols Type 7, dating to c. AD 1225-1400. The rounded outer edge of the buckle is widened projecting into the loop and out of it creating an oval surface that is 12.4mm wide. This oval region of the frame is domed, being convex on its outer surface and concave on its reverse. The rest of the frame is sub-oval in cross section with the axis bar being slightly narrower. The oval domed surface of the frame has a triangular shaped groove on its inside edge for the …

A bent and slightly chipped cast copper-alloy thimble, possibly from Nuremberg, dated to c. 1330-1400. Despite the thimble being bent it is possible to identify its original form. Originally it would have been circular in plan and domed in profile (c. 10.2mm high). It edge is flat and narrow and it is made of thin metal. At the centre of the thimble on top of the dome is a single pierced hole (2.5mm diameter). The sides and top are covered in small circular indented pits. The pits form a left-hand spiral around the sides, though this is not continuous, and continue in concentric…

A medieval copper-alloy T-shaped buckle of 13th- or 14th-century date complete with pin, but broken at the attachment end. The frame is rectangular with squared corners and edges and an open central rectangular projection at the centre of one of the long edges creating the vertical bar of the T. This projection extends into a short length of solid rectangular plate ending in a very thin ridge around the front and sides beyond which is an integral circular loop with a broken outer side. The reverse is flat throughout and the front of the main rectangular loop of the frame is also flat.…

An incomplete Medieval silver halfpenny of Richard II (AD 1377-1399) or Henry IV (AD 1399-1413), probably dating to AD 1390-1412 or uncertain type and unclear mint. The legend on the reverse has been lost through clipping or wear, and there is a break at a chord that loses about a quarter of the circumference The proposed dating is based on the style of crown, the relative narrowness of the jaw-line and the presence of ANGLIE in the obverse legend, as opposed to an abbreviated form. London Mint. Withers & Withers (2002: 51 and 2003: 20-21).

Late Medieval penny of an uncertain ruler dating to AD 1377 to 1485. Possibly a local die, mint of York. The coin has been clipped to the inner circle and is pierced at 12 o'clock on the obverse with a large hole made near the edge and not adjacent to a cross end on the reverse. Due to the lack of other modifications, such as gilding, it is not clear that piercing alone has removed it circulating as coinage, which was often judged by weight due to heavy clipping in this period. Therefore it has been rcorded as a coin, not as an object, which might have been potential Treasure.
