A fragment of a copper-alloy unidentified object of uncertain date. It consists of a sub-rectangular main body, from which two oval cro-sectioned arms protrude. The main body has one face marked by a crude stamped cross, while the back face is flat and plain. The longer arm diverges laterally and bears a knob on its inner edge. A copper-alloy medieval single-looped trapezoidal buckle dating to the period c. 1350-1500. The bar is narrowed and the pin is complete. The front of the buckle appears to be folded back over on itself at the outer edge, double thickness, with incurved corners, which is an appearance intended when cast. An identical pair of flat machine-stamped plates of length 27.7mm and thickness 0.8mm, each comprising a conjoined ring and rhomboid or square, the former with a central aperture of diameter 4.3mm and the latter with two holes of diameter 1.6mm. A copper-alloy fragment of a Post Medieval pair of dividers dating to AD 1500-1600. It is a sub-rectangular bar in plan with a triangular cross-section at one end and in the middle; on the other end it has a trapezoidal cross-section. The bar is faceted and it is slightly curved in the middle. The trapezoidal end has the remains of probably two lugs; the triangular end has traces of iron corrosion products. Such dividers comprised two hinged arms; the upper section is copper alloy while the lower arms are iron; here only one upper section survives, broken at both ends. Cf PAS-8CD18…

The fragment, broadly triangular in shape and 19.3mm wide, comprises the lower left corner of the mount. A complete Medieval copper-alloy book mount of Howsam type B.1.2 (c. 1150-c. 1300). This umbonate quatrefoil mount is domed at the front and largely concave on the reverse. It has four evenly spaced lugs situated at the base. Each lug has a circular rivet hole and one rivet, made of copper-alloy, remains in situ.
