An incomplete copper alloy single looped buckle dating to the medieval period (c.AD 1300-1400). The frame was originally D-shaped with a curved and widened outer edge. The frame is incomplete and breaks at the pin rest and where the frame narrows. The face is flat and is decorated with various incised lines. The main outer edge presents a series of vertical lines, whereas where the frame narrows, the design is crossed curved lines. The reverse is slightly faceted at the sides and is undecorated. A distorted and incomplete copper-alloy single loop buckle frame having lost its pin bar as a result of old damage. The frame is D-shaped, and broadly oval in cross-section with rounded corners. At both ends of the frame are animal heads that grip the traces of the narrowed, oval cross sectioned bar. The buckle consists of an elongated D-shaped buckle frame, an articulating pin and folded strap plate. Copper alloy mount fragment. Rob Webley kindly comments as follows: 'This particular type of mount comes from a buckle plate. Please see Mills (1999, 17; no. NM. 17) or Read (2016, 19; no. 91)'. A thin cast strip with an offset sub-rhomboid projection at one end, immediately adjacent to a drilled fixing hole of diameter 1.8mm across which it is broken. The other end may be complete. The display face bears a finely incised cross-hatch overall, dividing it into small rhomboid compartments. A fragment of a large copper alloy double looped buckle frame with integral bar. Part of the loops only remaining. The frame is bevelled on the rear face and has a raised, beaded outer and inner edges on the front face. Both the beaded edges are decorated with incised diagonal lines.
