A complete post-Medieval copper-alloy palm-guard (c. 1600-c. 1800). Read Type VI, variant. This palm-guard is circular, domed at the reverse and hollow on the front. The turned-up rim has two pairs of circular holes, diametrically opposed, close to the edge. The holes are at an angle of about 45° from the horizontal. The front has randomly distributed circular recesses of varying sizes. An incomplete 17th century silver reliquary pendant. Description: The pendant survives only as the reliquary part of the pendant. The pendant is circular in plan and rectangular in section. It is made of three components, two sheets of silver cut in a circular shape, with a rectangular sheet of silver soldered around the outside edges creating the side of the pendant. An incomplete cast copper-alloy Jews harp of probable post-Medieval date (c. 1500-c. 1800). The prongs are missing due to two old breaks. The sub-circular head is symmetrical in plan and is lozenge-shaped in cross-section. At the apex, on the front face, is a corroded rabbet (width c. 3.0mm) to accommodate the iron prong which is now missing. A lead alloy token of Elizabeth I (1558-1603), struck c. 1574 (North 1991: 140, ref: 2063). North comments: ‘There exist a number of lead or pewter pieces which have in the past been described as patterns or tokens. It is more probable however that they were political medalets or counters, as some would appear to relate to Mary, Queen of Scots, and the workmanship on most is rather crude. They are normally found in London, and were struck about 1574 (North 1991: 140).

A complete cast copper alloy strap fitting of possible Roman date, 1st to 2nd century AD. The object is an elongated oval shape in plan. It is convex at the front and concave at the rear. An incomplete polished stone axehead of Neolithic date (3500 BC - 2100 BC). The axehead has been made from a pebble of local stone, greyish green in colour. It is sub-triangular in plan and in side view it is pointed at the top and rounded at the bottom. It has a chip at each corner of the cutting edge on both faces. These appear to be recent breaks. Old breaks are situated on each face of the butt. These breaks have overlying striations have may have been created by an attempt to smooth the breaks. The following objects were all found relatively close together in the plough-soil and probably represent the remains of the grave-goods from a single, ploughed-out, Anglo-Saxon female grave. It is probable that the finds have become dispersed through agricultural activity. 1) Spoon (IOW 2003.74.12). Surface metal analysis conducted at the British Museum indicated an approximate silver content for the spoon of 88-97%. Its partly remaining bowl is gilded. Most of the breaks are old.
