A gilded cast copper alloy object. Possibly part of a vessel of Medieval, fourteenth to fifteenth century date (AD 1300 - AD 1500). Length 18.9mm, width 17.3mm and 11.8mm thick. Weight 9.84g. This fractured and crumpled fragment is possibly part of the spout of a vessel. It has moulded decoration which appears to represent part of the head of an animal. A sub-circular annulet forms an eye (possibly) and small linear grooves emulate hair or fur (possibly). The object is in poor condition and the breaks are all old.

A fragment of a ceramic vessel of probable Iron Age date (800 BC - AD 43). Length: 19.0mm; width: 28.0mm and 11.0mm thick. Weight: 5.87g. This undecorated fragment is part of the rim and is sparsely tempered with relatively large pieces of whitish angular flint. The coarse surface is a brown (Munsell Color 7.5YR 5/4). There is insufficient rim to enable the diameter of the vessel to be estimated. The fragment is in a stable condition and has fresh breaks.

This implement has been made on an elongated flint nodule which has been flaked overall, except for a small area at the butt end where the cortex remains. An incomplete post-Medieval to Modern lead alloy toy gun (c. 1850-c. 1920). The hollow object is sub-triangular in plan and pointed oval in cross-section. Both sides have similar decoration. The fore-stock is decorated with impressed cross-hatching. The shoulder stock has raised floral decoration which is formed of lines of pellets and "rosettes". There is a plain seam above and below. One terminal of a pair of post-Medieval tongs (c. 1600-c. 1700 AD). These tongs were used by tobacco pipe smokers to pick up burning embers to ignite the tobacco. The terminal is in the form of flat stylised human hand. It has traces of a dark green patina and the break is old. 32.8 x 8.7 x 3.9mm. Weight: 2.04g. North comments: ‘There exist a number of lead or pewter pieces which have in the past been described as patterns or tokens. Gold Gallic contemporary copy of a Solidus of Anastasius (491-518), possibly of the Pseudo-Merovingian coinage, c. 500-580. Copied from a coin of Constantinople. Found with associated Early Medieval finds from a ploughed cemetery site (Treasure case no. 2007 T203). Note: the BM has 7 imitations of solidi of Anastasius, but none are very similar to this piece.
