Gold Gallic contemporary copy of a Solidus of Anastasius (491-518), possibly of the Pseudo-Merovingian coinage, c. 500-580. Copied from a coin of Constantinople. Found with associated Early Medieval finds from a ploughed cemetery site (Treasure case no. 2007 T203). Note: the BM has 7 imitations of solidi of Anastasius, but none are very similar to this piece. An almost complete cast copper alloy probable pendant of probable Post-Medieval date (AD 1500 – AD 1800). Length 37.0mm, width 23.4mm and 4.1mm thick. Weight 5.79g. An incomplete cast lead two-part cloth seal of early/mid seventeenth century date, Norfolk/Norwich issue (c. AD 1600 - c. AD 1650). Length 22.2mm, width 20.0mm and 1.7mm thick. Weight 3.84g. The circular disc is disc 1 of a two-part seal. A small portion of the connecting strip has survived. The front has moulded capital letters in three lines: TO/NAR-/W-. A gilded cast copper alloy object. Possibly part of a vessel of Medieval, fourteenth to fifteenth century date (AD 1300 - AD 1500). Length 18.9mm, width 17.3mm and 11.8mm thick. Weight 9.84g. This fractured and crumpled fragment is possibly part of the spout of a vessel. It has moulded decoration which appears to represent part of the head of an animal. A sub-circular annulet forms an eye (possibly) and small linear grooves emulate hair or fur (possibly). The object is in poor condition and the breaks are all old.
