An incomplete cast copper alloy Roman brooch of the Langton Down (variant) type (AD 43 - AD 100). Length 16.1mm, width 16.3mm and 7.7mm thick. Weight 2.97g. The wings, the spring and the pin are incomplete and the lower part of the bow is missing. All the breaks are old and abraded. The wings appear to have fully enclosed the spring mechanism. A fragment of a ceramic vessel of probable Iron Age date (800 BC - AD 43). Length: 19.0mm; width: 28.0mm and 11.0mm thick. Weight: 5.87g. This undecorated fragment is part of the rim and is sparsely tempered with relatively large pieces of whitish angular flint. The coarse surface is a brown (Munsell Color 7.5YR 5/4). There is insufficient rim to enable the diameter of the vessel to be estimated. The fragment is in a stable condition and has fresh breaks.

A complete orange patinated flint “pick” or “adze” of Late Mesolithic or Early Neolithic date (6500 BC – 2900 BC). Length 151.0mm, maximum width 52.5mm and maximum thickness 39.0mm. Weight 332.0g. The implement has three faces and is generally sub-triangular in cross-section. In plan, it has an oblique butt and a pointed cutting edge. When viewed from the side it has a “hump-backed” profile. Fragment of a silver gilt finger ring of probable Modern, nineteenth century date. Length 16mm, width 14mm and about 2mm thick. Weight 2.36g. The bezel is 14mm in width and 12mm in length and has a symmetrical schematic floral design. Only a small portion of the hoop survives. This is 6.5mm in width. Each edge of the hoop is decorated with cabling which enclose obliquely set elongated pellets along the centre of the hoop. The breaks appear to be old but clearly show that the ring is made of silver.

Incomplete copper alloy harness link of Late Early-Medieval, eleventh century date. Length 54mm, maximum width 23.5mm and 9mm thick at the central boss. Weight 17.09g. When complete the piece consisted of a central boss connected to a loop each side by a short arm. The loop is tri-lobed. However one of the loops is broken and missing. The breaks appear to be old.
