A copper alloy Roman nummus of Constantius II (AD 323-361), Reece period 18, minted in AD 353 at Trier. The obverse on this coin is very worn, but the bust can just be seen facing right with its prominent ear. The reverse is of the SALVS AVG NOSTRI type with a chi-rho in the centre flanked by an alpha 'A' and omega 'ω'. This type was only struck at Trier and is attributed to a period known as the Revolt of Poemenius (Kent,1981, pp.164-165). Copper alloy nummus of Constantius II (AD 337-361), Reece period 18, FEL TEMP REPARATIO reverse type depicting a soldier, advancing left, with spear in right hand and shield in left, spearing a fallen horseman on the ground to the left of the soldier, dating from AD 353-360. Reverse mint mark in exergue PCON for mint of Arles but too worn and incomplete to see mint letters either side of figures.
